Start your design process with clippings from magazines or homes that appeal to you. Look for details that would enhance your plan - vaulted ceilings, shape of interior trusses, type of staircase, placement of stone fireplaces. Then talk to us, or send us your ideas and let us work together. |

Many of our customers are building a timber frame home for the first time. Often they have a general idea of what they want but not a finished design. Linwood has developed a number of different styles of homes to stimulate the imagination and help conceptualize the vision. |

This design development process is quite natural. You are encouraged to give free expression to your ideas; after all, it is your dream house that you are building. The final design will evolve as all the important individual components are brought together.

We find that most customers have a certain external style in mind. With our design expertise we can generally meet the specific space and layout needs within the envelope of the look chosen. Linwood representatives are trained to help you design what you want.

Once your design is finalized, you are given a firm price quote for a complete home package which will enable you to build to the lock-up stage. At this stage, a contract is signed and the package price guaranteed for three months. By contrast, beware of others in the industry who have open-ended ability to increase prices even after you think you have a contract.

Linwood will send you a set of large scale preliminary drawings showing elevations and floor plans. You can use them to make revisions which are incorporated into final construction blueprints. You may still change these blueprints once again if necessary to fine-tune your design at no extra charge. The final set of blueprints is highly detailed and will usually require engineering approvals. They can then be used to obtain planning approvals and by the construction crews as they build. |

We are even able to create a virtual tour for you so that you can see your new home before it's constructed. Imagine being able to view that master bedroom and to make changes before you build. Now with Hampton, you can. Contact us for details on making your own virtual tour, click here. |
