QUALITY CRAFTSMANSHIP

Hampton timber frames are crafted in two sophisticated production facilities.

Sawmill

Located in the Canadian provinces of British Columbia and Ontario, these locations allow reduced shipping costs and faster delivery times. Both plants use sophisticated computer-controlled equipment manufactured in Germany by the Hundegger company.

This equipment can machine virtually any complex joining components that may be required by the home design. The machinery can cut accurately to tolerances of thousands of an inch. As a result, the joints are tight fitting and the frame components will be flush with no unsightly gaps.

Sawmill

The computer programming driving the cutting equipment actually uses the same drawings that are part of the final blueprints. This means that the component timbers that are cut will accurately reflect what is drawn. This eliminates any on-site surprises.

The timbers used in manufacturing are selected direct from the sawmill to provide the appearance and performance required and will be accurately machined and finished prior to assembly.

Joints

The finishing process includes a coat of clear oil that is applied at the factory to protect the timbers in transit.

This also successfully reduces the cost of finishing when it is often difficult to access timbers in vaulted areas.

In some cases, a hand-finished look is what the customer wants. This may include the use of rough-finished timbers, recycled timbers or special carvings. Our craftsmen can accommodate these needs by using traditional hand tools to obtain the required result.

Quality craftsmanship is essential in building an outstanding timber frame home. Do not settle for anything less.
